 Brooke Eliason, @femalefoodie

Brooke Eliason, is most commonly recognized as the creator and founder of Femalefoodie, a women-powered initiative dedicated to sharing unbiased restaurant reviews to a national following of over 70k on Instagram (@femalefoodie). With mouth-watering content to obsess over, Brooke and her local food scouts are helping ease the debate of where next to grab a bite, putting an end to wasting money and settling for mediocre meals. From dining guides in cities across America, to grocery hauls of our favourites from Costco to Trader Joe’s, @femalefoodie has you covered and drooling.

Back in the summer of 2010, Brooke was living in West Yellowstone, Montana, and had recently taken an interest in food photography. Having always loved to dine out and try new places and cuisines, the idea of starting a restaurant review venture seemed like a natural fit. With a mother and sister also entertaining successful blogs, the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree when growing up in a family that loves food, discovery and best of yet, the appeal of sharing it with the rest of the world.

Although the past year hasn’t seen many of us eat out necessarily, Brooke further establishes @femalefoodies' presence by explaining what we all know too well in that, “a lot of us fall into the trap of eating at the same three or four places over and over and over”. Nevertheless, Brooke and her team have started to feature recipes on their website, inspired by restaurant favourites like that of ‘Little Moir’s Food Shack’ in Florida to ‘Parm’ in NYC. Further detailed on their YouTube channel are a plethora of tutorials and food hauls, in addition to the recipes created by their talented team of ‘foodies’.

Ultimately, bringing about a community of people who love to eat out, whilst trying new cuisines and hot-spots, @femalefoodie throughout the years has become so much more. Initially a one woman show, has now evolved into a team of over 20 contributors spread out amongst 15 different cities. From Boomers to Gen-Z, Femalefoodies’ readership is unlike any other, inspiring all to try new things, live new experiences, and most importantly eat great food!
