A writer, photographer, vintage seller and foodie at heart, Cat Bude has amassed a following of over 40k on her Instagram platform (@cat_in_france), by sharing various recipes and French country lifestyle content. Having met her French husband in California 25 years ago, it took 12 moves around the West Coast and Pacific Northwest, until they settled in a 380 year old farm house in Normandy, France. At the time with 3 kids living at home, and 2 dogs, 11 chickens and 5 goats, in naming a few of their farm friendly companions, their dream home, which they have coined ‘Rabbit Hill’, have helped welcome them to countryside living.

Having been ‘bed and breakfast’ owners in the past, the couple found joy and excitement in hosting guests and providing for an enriching and exciting visit. Accordingly, once they had settled in Normandy, they started guiding vintage shopping tours and also created ‘Rabbit Hill Kitchen' workshops. The latter is held at their farm and is a market and cooking workshop guided by Cat herself. This activity is in addition to her online vintage pop-up sales held on the first or second Saturday of every month. Featuring a selection of curated finds such as kitchenware, decor and French linens, she continues to be enthusiastic about the French countryside, hoping to share its charm with all whom she meets, as well as with her online audience.

Constantly occupied with the tasks it takes to run a farm, her days at Rabbit Hill are filled with excitement and joy, finding endless inspiration in recipe tastings, photography projects and writing. Without needing to be in Normandy yourself, a follow on her page will transport you to this cultural haven, inspiring even the most novice of cooks to attempt the most delectable dishes and incorporate some of the simple pleasures that comes with living in the French country into their own lives.
